Poor Tom Cruise hasn't received a lot of credit from the plurality of Cosmo voters. At the first annual awards ceremony, he was branded as "Most Over-Rated Actor of All Time," tying with Mel Gibson and Keanu Reeves. But at 2002 Cosmique Movie Awards, he began his comeback by being nominated for, and winning, the award for Best Cameo for his appearance in Austin Powers in Goldmember. And his film Minority Report was nominated for four awards and won Best Mystery, Suspense, Horror, or Thriller Film of 2002, though in every other category it lost to The Two Towers juggernaut.
His 2003 performance in The Last Samurai received significant critical acclaim, including a Golden Globe nomination. But it wasn't enough to sway Academy voters for another Oscar nod, nor Cosmo voters to consider him for his first significant Cosmo award. And in 2005, his performance in War of the Worlds (no doubt heavily influenced by his Scientology antics) earned him the Worst Performance award.
