Robin Wright Penn received little critical buzz for her performance in the independent film A Home at the End of the World, an adaptation of Michael Cunningham's novel. But the film certainly came to the attention of Cosmo voters, who gave it three nominations including an unexpected Best Actress nod for Penn.
Her first starring role on the big screen was in The Princess Bride, a film remembered fondly by Cosmo voters who named it Best Date Movie of All Time at the first annual awards. Her husband, actor Sean Penn, received a Best Actor Cosmo last year for his performance in Mystic River.
