A few years ago, Natalie Portman narrowly dodged a Worst Performance nomination for Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones. Her performance in the film can be laid at the doorstep of George Lukas; co-star Hayden Christensen, who did get a Worst Performance nod, previously received a Best Supporting Actor Cosmo nod for Life as a House and the following year very nearly a Best Actor nod for Shattered Glass.

But now at the Fifth Annual Awards, Portman has received four individual and two ensemble acting nominations, becoming the most nominated actor of the year. Voters seemed split in determining whether her role in Closer was in a leading or supporting category, and she ended up being nominated in both. In addition, she earned a second Best Actress nomination for Garden State, for which she was also nominated for Intimate Actress. She also shares the Best Ensemble and Sexiest Ensemble nominations for Closer.
