One of television's biggest icons, Lucy also made scores of movies, many of them uncredited early in her career. But it was her appearance in a 1948 radio show that allowed her to break into television comedies, and ultimately cinematic comedies like The Long, Long Trailer, for which she was nominated for a Best Comedic Actress Cosmo. She lost to Madeline Kahn, but was re-nominated the following year.
