Coming off of the high from his first season American Idol runner-up placement in 2002, Justin Guarini ended up with a rough year in 2003. His first feature film with AI co-star Kelly Clarkson, From Justin to Kelly, was both a box office and critical disaster. He was arrested for drunk driving. His solo album was a bomb and he was dropped by his record label. Entertainment Weekly gratuitously slammed him on almost every page of their "Best of 2003" issue. He got nominated for a pair of Razzie Awards from the Golden Raspberry Foundation, which honors the worst films and performances of the year.

Still, he can take consolation that although he was nominated for a Worst Performance Cosmo, he also achieved the film's only positive nomination. But one has to wonder if voters were nominating him for Best Villain because they liked how his character was a tiny bit of a cad, or because he personally was a villain for allowing the project to move forward. And some would question whether "Best Villain" is actually a positive award anyway. Perhaps he should just take solace in the fact that Ben Affleck took home the worst performance prize.
