I'm not a big fan of the horror genre, so I'm a little surprised by how many horror flicks I ended up seeing this year, much less actually liked. "Gothika" got such mixed reviews that I was a little nervous, but in the end have to give it a thumbs up. Yeah, the plot isn't completely innovative and the twists were expected, but overall it achieved its aims nicely. It will almost certainly make my top five list for Best Cinematography this year.
